T629 nylon cloth · -196 °C LN₂ grade
Lab314-629 · 38 × 20 mm dual-purpose LN₂ label for cryovials and microscope slides
Regular metric landscape format: 38 mm horizontal barcode capacity with 20 mm vertical clear height. One roll serves both cryovial bodies and microscope slide label areas, readable from LN₂ dewar to autoclave throughout the process.

Product Overview

Lab314-629 LN₂ labels use T629 nylon cloth as the face stock and are laboratory cloth labels for identifying cryovials and microscope slides across the full temperature range from -196 °C LN₂ to 121 °C autoclaving.Nominal size 38 × 20 mm: the 38 mm horizontal clear width accommodates a complete specimen ID barcode or 2D code, while the 20 mm vertical clear height supports a two-line layout of "barcode on one line, specimen information and date on the other," balancing information capacity and labeling area on the cryovial body.

Face stock and temperature resistance follow the T629 row of the official material guide: nylon cloth texture, easy to apply with good conformability, covering all five environments — LN₂ -196 °C, freezer -80 °C, hot water 100 °C, autoclaving 121 °C and ambient. The cloth substrate flexes with the cryovial diameter during freeze–thaw cycles and rebounds, so the printed layer is less prone to edge lifting than rigid films; the label remains intact throughout the workflow from LN₂ dewar retrieval to water bath rewarming and then autoclaving.

This model is positioned as a bulk consumable for biobank operations: 500–1000 labels per roll with continuous feed, paired with M611, EOS2/3, MACH4S and other laboratory label printers and BRL series cryogenic ribbons, so high-volume tube labeling and slide archiving during intake season can be completed with a single roll on hand.

Key Features

布
Nylon cloth conforms to shape
The soft cloth substrate conforms to curved cryovial walls and flat microscope slides without lifting, remaining flat after freeze–thaw cycles.
温
Passes all five environments
The T629 row of the official guide covers -196 °C LN₂, -80 °C freezer, 100 °C hot water, 121 °C autoclaving and ambient.
幅
38 × 20 mm two-line layout
38 mm landscape width for barcodes, 20 mm clear height for text; barcode and specimen information on two lines, so scanning and visual verification do not interfere with each other.
卷
Full-roll batch output
500–1000 labels/roll, continuously die-cut, for batch printing with thermal-transfer printers; one roll on hand covers intake season.

Typical Applications

Cryovial intake labeling
Specimen ID barcode on the top line, specimen type and intake date on the bottom line; two-line information printed in one pass across the full roll for batch tube labeling.
Microscope slide archiving identification
The 38 × 20 mm format covers the frosted label area of the slide in full; archived pathology and cytology smears can follow the slide into low-temperature storage workflows.
LN₂ dewar storage and retrieval
In -196 °C LN₂ immersion, labels stay attached and legible; with rack-based zone management, scan to locate during retrieval and storage.
Freeze–thaw and rewarming workflow
From -196 °C LN₂ to 37 °C water bath rewarming and then 121 °C sterilization and recovery, the cloth label flexes with the tube body and does not detach.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between 38 × 20 mm and the imperial 38.1 × 19.05 mm, and how do I choose?
A: The two formats are close in size. 38 × 20 mm is the metric nominal size with about 1 mm more vertical clear height, giving more room for two-line text layout; 38.1 × 19.05 mm corresponds to the imperial 1.5 × 0.75 in and suits existing systems accustomed to imperial specifications. Both use T629 nylon cloth with the same temperature grade, so choose according to your existing template system.
Q: Will a nylon cloth label on a microscope slide affect microscopic observation?
A: This format covers the frosted writing area in full according to the label area dimensions and does not obscure the viewing window; the printed content is transferred onto the cloth surface via cryogenic ribbon and is not prone to detachment during low-temperature storage and rewarming.
Q: Can I print with a standard ribbon?
A: Not recommended. For ultra-low temperature applications, use BRL-80-BK or BRL-110-BK laboratory cryogenic ribbons to ensure adhesion and legibility of the transferred layer in LN₂ and freeze–thaw cycles.
Q: How many labels can one roll print, and will changing rolls mid-way affect continuous numbering?
A: 500–1000 labels/roll shipped per order specification, continuously die-cut across the full roll; with the continuous printing mode of M611, EOS2/3, MACH4S and other models, the numbering sequence requires no stop for roll changes.

Selection & Usage Guide

Same-family selection reference: for a longer barcode capacity in a short landscape strip, switch to the 38 × 12 mm model; for narrow-tube wrap-around overlap, switch to the 35 × 16 mm or 30 × 15 mm narrow format; for flat single-label application on conical centrifuge tubes, switch to the 35 × 20 mm conical tube model; for large areas accommodating 2D codes and multiple fields, switch to the 60 × 40 mm square label model; for ambient freezer applications requiring only -40 °C, switch to the T419 / T329 economy models. For more materials and specific applications, please contact our product manager for selection.
  • Keep the labeling surface dry and clean; apply flat to the middle section of the cryovial body, press out air bubbles, then place in the low-temperature environment.
  • Before printing, apply one label to the target container as a trial to confirm the format matches the printed content layout, then proceed to batch output.
  • After printing, it is recommended to let the labels rest until the ribbon transferred layer stabilizes before placing in LN₂; applying immediately after printing is also acceptable, with adhesion performance subject to actual testing.
Note: The temperature grades and face stock information on this page are subject to the T629 row of the official material guide and the product specifications section; page images contain promotional banner elements, and actual delivered specifications are subject to the order confirmation. For ultra-low temperature operations, follow laboratory biosafety procedures and wear cryogenic gloves when handling materials in LN₂.
