Product Overview

Lab269-629-10 38 × 12 mm laboratory cryovial labels use T629 nylon cloth as the face stock and are wrap-around identification labels for cryovials across the full temperature range from -196 °C LN₂ to 121 °C autoclaving. The 38 mm length provides ample horizontal space for barcodes, while the 12 mm low-profile height keeps the label from obscuring graduations and liquid level once applied to the vial body. This long-and-low combination is designed specifically for barcode-first specimen management workflows.

T629 nylon cloth is easy to apply, withstands high and low temperatures, and conforms well. It passes LN₂ (-196 °C), ultra-low temperature freezer (-80 °C), hot water (100 °C), autoclaving (121 °C) and ambient conditions, making it a general-purpose cloth label material for all laboratory labeling needs. It is ideal for unified stock in biobanks, with one label covering multiple container types.

Compared with rigid film face stocks, the flexibility of nylon cloth allows the label to conform fully to the curved vial body, reducing edge stress during repeated freeze–thaw cycles. The matte white cloth surface absorbs ink evenly, giving thermal-transfer printed barcodes crisp edges and stable scan readability after long-term low-temperature storage.

Key Features

码
38 mm barcode capacity
The 38 mm horizontal width accommodates longer 1D barcodes with generous scan depth of field, ensuring more reliable first-pass handheld scanning in low-temperature storage rooms.
矮
12 mm low profile, no liquid-level obstruction
Only 12 mm in height, the label does not cover graduations or the liquid-level viewing window on the vial body, so remaining sample volume is readable at a glance.
缠
Wrap-around application
Flexible nylon cloth conforms well; the 38 × 12 mm strip wraps around the cryovial body for a flat fit, without edge lifting or peeling at low temperatures.
温
Passes all four temperature levels
Passes -196 °C / -80 °C / 100 °C / 121 °C, following specimens through the complete chain of freeze–thaw, water bath rewarming and autoclaving.

Typical Applications

Cryovial wrap-around labeling
The strip wraps one full turn around the vial body with the ends overlapped and pressed firmly; information remains intact after LN₂ immersion and repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
Long barcode specimen management
The 38 mm horizontal width suits full-length horizontal 1D barcodes such as Code128, enabling efficient check-in/check-out with biobank barcode scanners.
ULT freezer compartment identification
The low-profile label sits on the side of the vial body without interfering with adjacent vials when returned to the rack, making compartment location clear at a glance.
Universal for conical tubes and test tubes
T629 material also conforms to curved containers such as conical tubes and test tubes, so one label covers multiple laboratory container types.

FAQ

Q: What should I note when applying wrap-around labels?
A: Apply at ambient temperature. Wrap the strip one full turn around the vial body, then overlap and press the ends firmly to avoid air bubbles. Apply to the straight section below the threaded area to prevent the label edge from being scraped when the cap is turned.
Q: Can 38 × 12 mm print two lines of text?
A: This model is primarily designed for single-line horizontal barcodes. If you need ID, date and barcode in multiple rows, we recommend switching to a square-format model in the same material, such as 30 × 25 mm or 35 × 25 mm.
Q: Is this label roll resistant to LN₂?
A: Yes. T629 nylon cloth has passed -196 °C LN₂ testing and also covers -80 °C ULT freezers, 100 °C hot water and 121 °C autoclaving, suitable for the complete freeze–thaw chain.
Q: What are the printing equipment requirements?
A: Use BRL-80-BK / BRL-110-BK laboratory cryogenic ribbon with M611, EOS2/3 or MACH4S laboratory label printers for thermal-transfer printing; labels can be applied and stored immediately after printing.

Selection & Usage Guide

  • Barcode first: the 38 mm length is prioritized for 1D barcodes; place manual IDs in small type below the barcode to keep the layout clean and single-line.
  • Labeling timing: complete printing and labeling at ambient temperature before moving into low-temperature storage; applying directly to cold surfaces reduces initial adhesion.
  • Tube diameter matching: on small-diameter tubes (microtubes), wrap-around labels tend to overlap excessively; we recommend switching to narrow models such as 30 × 15 mm or 35 × 16 mm. This model suits standard tube diameters of 1.8 mL/2 mL and above.
  • Temperature-based selection: for routine items used only above -40 °C, consider the T419 gloss white PET or T329 matte white PP economy models; for -80 °C/-196 °C applications, use T629.

Usage Notes

Note: Please print with the matching BRL series laboratory cryogenic ribbon; standard ribbons may suffer print-layer detachment in ultra-low temperature and autoclave environments. After wrapping, the label ends must be overlapped and pressed firmly; labels with insufficient overlap risk edge lifting during long-term LN₂ immersion.
