Product Overview
Lab190-629 25.4x9.5mm biobank labels use T629 nylon cloth as the face stock and are designed for cryovial and microscope slide identification across the full temperature range from -196 °C LN₂ to 121 °C autoclaving. The matte white nylon cloth face stock applies easily and conforms well, lying flat on both curved tube bodies and glass surfaces; the 25.4x9.5mm narrow strip keeps information intact and legible throughout the complete freeze–thaw chain of freezing, rewarming and autoclaving.
T629 is the most broadly applicable material in this series: it passes LN₂ (-196 °C), ultra-low temperature freezer (-80 °C), hot water (100 °C), autoclaving (121 °C) and ambient conditions, and suits applications including ambient storage, microscope slides, cryovials/test tubes and conical tubes. It is ideal as a unified stock item for general biobank use.
Key Features
T
Full Temperature Range Resistance
Passes all four environments: direct immersion in -196 °C LN₂, -80 °C ultra-low temperature freezer, 100 °C hot water and 121 °C autoclaving. One label covers the entire freeze–thaw and sterilization chain.
M
Matte White Nylon Cloth Face Stock
The matte white background provides high print contrast; the nylon cloth is flexible and conforms well, resisting edge lift on both curved tube bodies and glass slide surfaces.
F
Narrow Strip Layout
The 25.4x9.5mm narrow, tall strip suits single-line barcodes or horizontally arranged ID numbers. It occupies little space and does not obscure cryovial graduations or liquid level observation.
P
Stable Thermal-Transfer Printing
Matches BRL-80-BK / BRL-110-BK laboratory cryogenic ribbons; pair with M611, EOS2/3 or MACH4S printers for batch printing of barcodes and text.

Typical Applications
Direct Application on Cryovial Bodies
The 25.4x9.5mm strip fits 1.8 mL/2 mL cryovial bodies, with a single-line barcode plus horizontally arranged ID number. No edge lift or detachment at low temperatures.
Narrow-Zone Slide Identification
The strip width fits the slide labeling zone; the matte white face stock keeps printed content legible throughout slide archiving and staining workflows.
Batch Labeling for Biobanks
The high-capacity 500–1000 labels/roll format, paired with printers such as M611 for batch output, suits unified printing and tube labeling before storage.
Universal for Conical and Test Tubes
T629 material conforms well to curved containers such as conical tubes and test tubes, so one label covers multiple container types.
FAQ
Q: Can this roll of labels go directly into a liquid nitrogen tank?
A: Yes. T629 nylon cloth material has passed -196 °C LN₂ environment testing and also covers -80 °C freezers, 100 °C hot water and 121 °C autoclaving. Information remains legible after the label goes through the complete freeze–thaw chain with the specimen.
Q: What is the difference between matte white and gloss white face stock?
A: The matte white background reflects less light, giving higher print contrast for barcodes and text and more stable scan recognition; the nylon cloth is flexible and conforms better to curved surfaces than rigid film face stocks.
Q: What ribbon and printer are required for printing?
A: Matches BRL-80-BK / BRL-110-BK laboratory cryogenic ribbons and is compatible with M611, EOS2/3 and MACH4S laboratory label printers. After thermal-transfer printing, labels are ready to apply directly.
Q: What if two lines of information do not fit on the small format?
A: For 25.4x9.5mm, single-line layout is recommended (either barcode or ID number). If you need ID number, date and barcode in multiple lines in the same column, switch to larger formats of the same material, such as 35x25mm or 50x30mm.
Selection & Usage Guide
- Single-line layout: on the narrow strip, prioritize a 1D barcode or a concise ID number, with character height no less than 2 mm, to ensure stable scanning and manual verification.
- Labeling timing: apply labels at ambient temperature before storage; applying directly to cold surfaces will affect initial adhesion.
- Tube conformity: after applying, smooth the label around the tube body to avoid trapped air bubbles; avoid the threaded area below the cap on cryovials to prevent scraping when screwing the cap.
- Temperature tiering: this item covers the -196 °C/-80 °C range; for standard items used only above -40 °C, switch to T419 gloss white PET or T329 matte white PP economy versions to reduce cost.
The page specifications section notes "multiple sizes available, see product detail images." This page is written for the 25.4x9.5mm size shown in the product name and detail images; for other sizes, contact the product manager for made-to-order options.
Usage Notes
Note: Please print with the matching BRL series laboratory cryogenic ribbon; labels printed with standard ribbons may show print layer detachment in ultra-low temperature and sterilization environments. Before storing specimens, we recommend performing a low-temperature resistance verification of the printed content to confirm consistent print quality between batches.
