T629 nylon cloth · for micro-volume samples
Lab084-629 30 × 15 mm LN₂ cryogenic labels
30 × 15 mm compact format: the cloth-based cryogenic label that takes up the least tube surface area, works on both micro cryovials and the frosted end of microscope slides, and passes all four tiers — -196 °C LN₂, -80 °C freezer, 100 °C hot water, and 121 °C autoclaving.

Product Overview
One of the most compact standard formats in the T629 family, built for micro-volume samples and dense storage.
Lab084-629 is a laboratory cloth-based identification label using nylon cloth as the face stock, suitable for the full temperature range from -196 °C LN₂ to 121 °C autoclaving. Format: 30 × 15 mm, 500-1000 labels per roll. Primarily intended for cryovial labeling in biobanks and archiving on the frosted end of microscope slides.
The value of this format lies in its small footprint: applied to a 0.5 mL micro cryovial, it does not obstruct observation of the liquid level inside the tube; placed in a cryobox slot, it does not encroach on the space needed to retrieve adjacent samples. The cloth material is easy to apply, conforms well, and withstands high and low temperatures, lying flat on small-curvature tube walls without lifting. Corner options include rounded and square die-cuts: rounded corners resist edge wear better, while square corners suit dense tiling.
Key Features
省
Smallest footprint
30 × 15 mm on a microtube does not block visual reading of the liquid level, and does not take up adjacent sample space in cryobox slots.
服
Cloth conforms to curves
The flexible nylon cloth backing lies flat on 0.5 mL to 2 mL tubes and does not lift at low temperatures.
耐
Full coverage of four temperature tiers
Official material guide T629: suitable for LN₂ -196 °C, freezer -80 °C, hot water 100 °C, and autoclaving 121 °C.
印
Continuous full-roll feed
500-1000 labels/roll continuous feed, for batch printing with BRL cryogenic ribbon and M611, EOS2/3, MACH4S.

Typical Applications
Micro cryovials
Liquid level observation in 0.5 mL tubes is unobstructed; ID number applied to the straight section of the tube.
Frosted end of microscope slides
Archiving of pathology and cell sample slides; the narrow strip aligns with the frosted writing area.
-80 °C freezer storage
Dense arrangement in cryobox slots; the small format does not interfere with box lid latches.
Pre-autoclaving processing
Aliquoted tubes and racks go through 121 °C autoclaving with the workflow; the cloth backing withstands high temperatures.
From -196 °C to 121 °C: Why Cloth Works
During LN₂ storage, labels must withstand the deep cold of -196 °C; upon removal and rewarming they return instantly to room temperature or even 100 °C hot water; and the autoclaving step must endure 121 °C moist heat. The edge curling and adhesive embrittlement that film labels tend to show after repeated freeze–thaw cycles are milder on flexible nylon cloth: the cloth fiber structure disperses thermal stress, and the adhesive bond to the tube wall is more forgiving. This is why T629 is officially positioned as universal for "everywhere in the lab that needs identification" — it is not picky about containers or temperature tiers.
- Deep-cold stage: direct storage in -196 °C LN₂; the cloth does not become brittle and does not crack at tube bends.
- Rewarming stage: warms up together during 100 °C hot water thawing; corners do not lift.
- Autoclaving stage: print remains intact and legible after 121 °C autoclaving.
- Storage stage: long-term storage in -80 °C freezers; adhesion is maintained through temperature swings from repeated door opening.
Batch usage tip: when a new batch arrives, first test-print one label and apply it to an actual tube; place it in a -80 °C freezer overnight, then remove and check adhesion and print legibility. Once confirmed, proceed to full-roll batch printing. Surface energy differs slightly between tube materials (PP, glass); a test application exposes issues in one go.
FAQ
Q: Is 30 × 15 mm enough for one barcode?
A: Yes. The 30 mm width accommodates one single-row short Code128 barcode or an 8-10 digit ID number; for more information, we recommend stepping up to a 35 × 25 mm or 50 × 30 mm format.
Q: Any application tips for labeling microtubes?
A: Apply after wiping the tube dry, and press firmly along the length to expel air bubbles. If frequent insertion and removal in LN₂ is required, a wrap-around application with slight overlap at the ends is recommended to increase adhesion area.
Q: How do I choose between rounded and square corners?
A: For cryovials, microscope slides, and other scenarios with frequent handling, choose rounded corners for better edge wear resistance; for dense tiling in cryobox slots, choose square corners for higher utilization.
Q: How does this relate to the 35 × 16 mm version?
A: Both use T629 material with identical temperature performance; the 35 × 16 mm is narrower and longer, suited to wrap-around application, while this 30 × 15 mm is more square with a smaller footprint, suited to side application and slide-end application.
Selection & Usage Guide
1
Choose format by container
Choose this version for side application on microtubes and end application on slides; choose the narrow-long version for wrap-around coverage of more tube surface.
2
Choose corners by scenario
Rounded corners for frequent handling, square corners for dense slot arrangement; simply note this when ordering.
3
Print with cryogenic ribbon
BRL-80-BK / BRL-110-BK with M611, EOS2/3, MACH4S; test-print and verify before batch printing.
4
Press firmly before storage
After labeling, press firmly around the tube before placing in the freezer or LN₂; avoid applying over frost.
Temperature Tier Notes
Note: For ambient and refrigerated/freezer scenarios above -40 °C, economical T419 and T329 options are available; for -80 °C and -196 °C ultra-low temperature scenarios, use ultra-low temperature materials such as T629 and T429. The two must not be mixed. For more materials and specific applications, please contact a product manager for selection assistance.
