Product Overview
Lab084-439 is a 30 × 15 mm six-color cryogenic label made of cryogenic-grade polyester face stock with a pre-printed color band at top, used for type classification and specimen identification of cryovials, test tubes and other laboratory containers in -196 °C LN₂, -80 °C freezer and 100 °C hot water environments.
The color band is pre-printed at the factory, and the print area remains white face stock. With BRL-80-BK / BRL-110-BK laboratory cryogenic ribbons, specimen numbers, dates and barcodes can be thermal-transfer printed directly on M611 / EOS2, EOS3 / MACH4S laboratory label printers. The 30 × 15 mm compact landscape format occupies little space when applied to the body of 2 mL cryovials or microcentrifuge tubes, without obscuring the tube graduations or the liquid-level viewing area.
Compared with similar cryogenic labels, the key difference of this product is that the color is carried by the label's own pre-printed band, which neither occupies the print area nor requires a color ribbon. The band color alone allows container types to be distinguished at a glance in racks and cryoboxes — ideal for biobanks and clinical laboratories managing specimens by color according to project, department or specimen type.

Color-coded project management in biobanks
Within the same cryobox, labels with different pre-printed color bands are used by project; the band serves as the project code, so samples can be located by color first and number second, shortening retrieval time.
Specimen tube labeling in clinical laboratories
The 30 × 15 mm format fits blood collection tubes, microcentrifuge tubes and microtubes; sampling time and serial number are printed, leaving ample blank space on the tube wall for visual verification that the specimen matches the request form.
Batch archiving in ultra-low temperature freezers
For batch storage of specimens in -80 °C ULT freezers, continuous feed from the full roll labels a whole batch in one pass; in low temperatures the face stock resists edge lifting and the print does not fade through freeze–thaw cycles.

FAQ
Q: Is the color pre-printed or printed by the user?
A: The top color band is pre-printed at the factory and comes with the roll; the white print area is thermal-transfer printed by the printer. No color ribbon is needed — a standard black cryogenic ribbon is sufficient for printing information.
Q: Can it be used in a 121 °C autoclave?
A: In the official material guide table, T439 is checked only for the 100 °C hot water range, not for 121 °C autoclaving. For applications requiring autoclaving with the container, we recommend the T429 or T629 series instead.
Q: Can it be applied to microscope slides?
A: The application section in the product specifications mentions "microscope slides", but in the official material guide table, the application range for T439 does not check the microscope slide column — only cryovials/test tubes and general-purpose items. For archiving on the frosted end of microscope slides, we recommend T629 nylon cloth labels or T424 solvent-resistant labels.
Q: What colors are available for the band, and can they be specified?
A: T439 is a six-color pre-printed series; the page image shows the blue band version. Available colors and color codes are subject to actual supply; please confirm color codes and feed direction with customer service before placing bulk orders.
Q: Can size and shape be customized?
A: The standard version is 30 × 15 mm. For other formats, refer to other item numbers in the same series, or provide the container dimensions and sample volume to customer service for evaluation of customization.
Selection & Usage Guide
- Need a 30 × 15 mm format but require 121 °C autoclaving or all-scenario versatility: choose Lab084-628 (T629 nylon cloth label).
- Need longer barcode capacity or more than two lines of information: choose medium-to-large formats such as 35 × 25 mm or 50 × 30 mm.
- Only need the -40 °C economy range for routine freezing: choose T419 (gloss white PET) or T329 (matte white PP).
- Need color classification in a larger format: refer to other T439 item numbers; for wrapping narrow tubes: choose T509 vinyl wrap-around version.
- Before labeling, wipe off oil and moisture from the tube wall; after applying, press firmly and let stand briefly before placing in the freezer — initial adhesion is more stable in low temperatures.
Usage Notes
Note: The upper temperature limit of this product is 100 °C hot water; the official table does not include the 121 °C autoclaving range, so do not place it directly in an autoclave with the container.
