Description

Lab032-429 is a laboratory cryogenic label made with a matte white PET polyester film face stock, single-side coated with cryogenic adhesive, for use in environments from -196 °C liquid nitrogen to 121 °C autoclaving. The 30 × 20 mm single-piece landscape format is a balanced size within the T429 series: the 30 mm width is enough to wrap more than once around common small-diameter cryovial bodies with ample overlap, while the 20 mm height accommodates two lines for ID number and barcode, completing one-vial identification with a single label and no double labeling. Suitable for biobank archiving, drug discovery, clinical laboratory testing, and packaging zone labeling of cryoboxes and racks.

Product Overview

Lab032-429 follows the T429 polyester cryogenic label process, with a matte white PET polyester film face stock and cryogenic adhesive, tested across four levels: liquid nitrogen -196 °C, freezer -80 °C, hot water 100 °C, and autoclaving 121 °C. The 30 × 20 mm 3:2 landscape format sits between small square and large square formats; a single label holds ID number and barcode on two lines, balancing information capacity and labeling speed; when applied to cylindrical surfaces such as cryovials and test tubes, the ends overlap by at least 3 mm. Compared with 5 mm-class narrow strips, this version carries more complete information per label; compared with 50 mm-class large formats, it labels faster without wasting label area, making it suitable as the primary identification for routine specimen tubes in 100 °C hot water rewarming and 121 °C autoclaving workflows.

Key Features

  • Full four-level temperature coverage: covers liquid nitrogen -196 °C, freezer -80 °C, hot water 100 °C, and autoclaving 121 °C; printed content remains clearly legible after rewarming and autoclaving.
  • Balanced 30 × 20 mm landscape format: ID number and barcode on two lines per label, one label per tube completes identification—fewer labels than narrow strips, faster than large formats.
  • 30 mm width for full wrap: wraps more than once around common small-diameter cryovial bodies with sufficient overlap, resisting edge lift during repeated low-temperature handling.
  • Official packaging labeling dimension: the T429 application range includes packaging labeling, so the same batch can also mark cryobox dividers, rack crossbars, and outer box zone labels.
  • Complete system compatibility: pairs with BRL-80-BK / BRL-110-BK cryogenic ribbons and prints on M611, EOS2/3, and MACH4S laboratory printers.

Typical Applications

  • Primary labeling for cryovials and microcentrifuge tubes: full-width horizontal labeling on the tube body, specimen ID on the top line and barcode on the bottom line, still scannable after -196 °C liquid nitrogen storage.
  • Specimens in rewarming and autoclaving workflows: specimen tubes undergoing 100 °C hot water rewarming or 121 °C autoclaving; printed content withstands steam washing without blurring or peeling.
  • Cryobox and rack zoning: the 30 mm width adheres to box dividers or rack crossbars for box number, level number, and project group zone labeling, in the same material system as the primary tube labels.
  • Drug discovery reagent aliquoting: batch number and expiry date on two lines for intermediate and reagent aliquot tubes; the horizontal layout enables quick scanning and comparison on racks.

FAQ

  • Is 30 × 20 mm enough? It fits ID number and barcode on two lines, or a single long ID number line; for full-information layouts of three or more lines, switch to Lab014-429 (50 × 30 mm) or the 50 × 60 mm vertical Lab102-429.
  • How many labels per feed? This version is single-piece die-cut, continuously fed from a roll, with edges formed in one pass and no tearing required; if tube-labeling throughput is the priority, switch to the 25 × 17 mm three-column Lab169-429.
  • Can it be applied to microscope slides? The official T429 range covers cryovials/test tubes and packaging labeling, with microscope slides not checked; for slide archiving switch to T629, and for pathology solvent resistance switch to T424 with BRS ribbon.
  • How does it compare with T629 nylon cloth? T429 uses a PET polyester face stock, passes all four temperature levels, and prints clearly; for complex curved surfaces such as conical tubes and microscope slides, choose the T629 nylon cloth version.

Selection & Usage Guide

This version is positioned as the "balanced primary label, one label per tube," with mid-range cost-effectiveness and labeling efficiency. For greater information capacity, switch to Lab014-429 (50 × 30 mm) or Lab112-429-3 (35 × 25 mm); for full-wrap coverage of small-diameter tubes, switch to Lab168-429-3 (20 × 15 mm, two columns); for extremely narrow single fields, switch to Lab336-429 (25 × 5 mm, two columns); for long barcodes without truncation, switch to Lab127-429 (60 × 30 mm); for vertical multi-field layouts, switch to Lab102-429 (50 × 60 mm, vertical). For room-temperature freezing scenarios requiring only -40 °C and above, switch to T419 / T329 to reduce cost.

Usage Notes

Note: When applying T429 to cryovial surfaces, the ends must overlap by at least 3 mm; single-piece die-cut edges are straight, so align with the tube axis during application to avoid insufficient overlap caused by skewed placement.
