Product Overview

Lab037-629 60x40mm is a laboratory cryogenic label using T629 nylon cloth as face stock, designed for temperature environments from -196 °C LN₂ to 121 °C autoclaving. Single label size is 60 × 40 mm, with rounded or square corners available, 500-1000 labels per roll. T629 is the only nylon cloth option in the Lab&HC laboratory medical material guide that simultaneously covers four carrier types: room temperature, microscope slides, cryovials and conical tubes. It offers good conformability and easy application, and is therefore commonly used as a general-purpose base stock label in biobanks, drug discovery and cell laboratories.

60 × 40 mm is the large-area square label format in this series. Compared with narrow single-line formats such as 30 × 15 mm and 35 × 16 mm, 60 × 40 mm provides multiple times the print area within a single label, allowing simultaneous layout of QR codes, 1D barcodes, specimen numbers and date information. It is suitable for scenarios requiring complete information and scan-based traceability where multiple small labels are inconvenient.

Temperature resistance is a hard specification for this series: this T629 nylon cloth model covers four grades — LN₂ -196 °C, freezer -80 °C, hot water 100 °C and autoclave 121 °C — with no approximate wording. If the experimental workflow does not include ultra-low temperature steps, economical -40 °C grade options such as T419 / T329 are available.

Key Features

L
60 × 40 mm large-area square label
Single-label area is more than 4 times that of the 35 × 16 mm narrow format; QR codes, barcodes and text can be laid out on one label, reducing the number of labels applied and the risk of mislabeling.
C
T629 nylon cloth face stock
Cloth-based face stock is flexible and conformable, adhering to curved tube bodies and conical tube tapers; easy to apply, printable on the front and peel-and-stick on the back.
T
Four-grade performance from -196 °C to 121 °C
Passes all four temperature conditions: LN₂ -196 °C, freezer -80 °C, hot water 100 °C and autoclave 121 °C; no label change needed across freeze–thaw and sterilization workflows.
R
Rounded / square corners available
Corner options include rounded and square: rounded corners resist lifting, while square corners offer higher layout utilization; choose according to the labeling location.
R
500-1000 labels per roll, full-roll feed
Full-roll packaging suits high-volume laboratory printing; continuous feed with M611 / EOS2/3 / MACH4S models improves tube-labeling efficiency in biobanks.
B
Matched with BRL series laboratory cryogenic ribbons
Prints with BRL-80-BK / BRL-110-BK laboratory cryogenic ribbons; ribbon and face stock are batch-matched — an officially recommended combination.

Typical Applications

Large-area flat labeling on large-diameter microcentrifuge tubes and conical tubes
The 60 × 40 mm format covers the conical body of conical tubes or the body of large-diameter microcentrifuge tubes in one application, concentrating information on a single label for quick reading and scanning.
Zone identification for cryoboxes and racks
Large-area square labels suit zone identification on box bodies, drawers and racks; when used with QR codes, they can correspond to box-position codes in biobank information systems.
Full-temperature-range labeling across biobank workflows
From -196 °C LN₂ vapor-phase tanks and -80 °C freezers to 121 °C autoclaving, the same T629 label stays with the specimen throughout — no label change needed between temperature steps.

FAQ

Q: The 60 × 40 mm area is relatively large — will it lift easily when applied to a tube body?
A: The corners of large-area labels are the weak points under stress. For curved tube bodies, we recommend the rounded-corner version, pressing the label firmly along the tube curvature and squeezing out air bubbles. For very small tube diameters (under 30 mm), narrow wrap-around formats such as 30 × 15 mm / 35 × 16 mm are recommended for more stable conformability.
Q: Can this label be placed directly into LN₂?
A: Yes. The LN₂ temperature resistance of T629 nylon cloth face stock is -196 °C, matching the temperature inside LN₂ dewars. It also passes freezer -80 °C, hot water 100 °C and autoclave 121 °C conditions, so freeze–thaw and sterilization workflows are within this model's application range.
Q: What ribbon and printer are required for printing?
A: Officially matched with BRL-80-BK / BRL-110-BK laboratory cryogenic ribbons and compatible with M611 / EOS2/3 / MACH4S laboratory label printers. The ribbon and face stock combination directly affects print adhesion; use this combination as recommended.
Q: Can containers taken from a frozen environment be labeled directly?
A: Not recommended. Condensation and frost on the tube surface interfere with the adhesive. Before labeling, allow the container to rewarm and wipe the surface dry; label and press firmly in a dry, frost-free state for more stable adhesion.

Selection & Usage Guide

1
Choose size by layout requirements
If a single label must hold a QR code + barcode + multi-field text, choose 60 × 40 mm; if only a single-line barcode or small-diameter wrapping is needed, choose narrow formats 30 × 15 / 35 × 16.
2
Choose application method by tube diameter
Large-diameter tubes and conical tubes over 30 mm are suitable for 60 × 40 mm flat labeling; smaller cryovials and microcentrifuge tubes are better suited to narrow wrap-around formats.
3
Choose material by temperature grade
If the workflow includes LN₂ or autoclaving, choose T629; for routine freezing down to -40 °C only, economical options such as T419 gloss white PET or T329 matte white PP are available.
4
Match ribbon and printer model
Use with BRL-80-BK / BRL-110-BK ribbons and M611 / EOS2/3 / MACH4S printers; using them as a set reduces printing and adhesion issues.
  • Before labeling, ensure the container surface is dry, frost-free and free of oil; for curved surfaces, press firmly along the tube curvature and squeeze out air bubbles.
  • Store full rolls in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and high temperatures to avoid affecting adhesive performance.
  • Rounded corners suit curved surfaces prone to lifting; square corners suit flat labeling such as cryoboxes and racks — choose according to the application.
  • To combine with other temperature-grade materials, or for custom sizes and pre-printed content, contact our product manager for selection based on your workflow.

Usage Notes

Note: This model uses T629 nylon cloth material with a maximum temperature resistance of 121 °C autoclaving and is not suitable for sterilization processes beyond this range. If the workflow includes higher temperatures or immersion in strong organic solvents (e.g., xylene, H&E staining protocols), please select an alternative; for pathology and histology applications, we recommend chemical-resistant T424 used with BRS series ribbons.
